Bev Boren is our most returning demonstrator at CTWS because she teaches with heart, humor and talent. She paints a variety of subject matter as well as working
invarious mediums. Bev's paintings are created with things that capture her eye whether it's a still life,
landscape, or capturing a person's personality. Painting is her way of connecting with the world
and the people around her and sharing those experiences along the way.
Previously Bev has taught us about
loose roses, vivid portraits, bird paintings, journal making and more. And now we’ve asked her back to teach
us about her process of journal sketching and using watercolor wash to liven up a diary or travel book. If
you follow her, you’ll see her regular practice of sketching her dogs and nearby people and it is captivating.
Join us for this program on January 8! Bring any inking tools you have (e.g. fountain pens, microns or similar
sketch markers), pencils, erasers, and your normal watercolor supplies for painting washes. The paper doesn’t
need to be extremely expensive high quality paper; we are going for gestural sketches and watercolor wash. While
you may be able to use inexpensive paper, please make sure it will hold up to ink without bleeding and not buckle
under a splashed and or wet wash.
