Founded by artists in 1985.

On September 11, 1985, ten watercolorists met to form a watercolor society based in Waco, Texas. Those artists served as the first Board of Directors for the Central Texas Watercolor Society. Their leadership and hard work are what began the Society’s successful legacy.

We are grateful to our founding members: Joyce Curtis, Sara Lane Dyche, Louise Hall, Dorothy Jester, Joann McLeod, Virginia Naman, Mary Owen, Peggy Smith, Madalene Wilhelm, and Wally Williams.

Their legacy has grown.

We now have over 80 member artists of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. Our members learn and exhibit work together, often forming deep friendships. Interested in becoming a member?
